Camping--in the mountains!

It's so funny that we own a KOA because we never camped at one before we got into the business! We generally rough it, as follows...

Camping recipe trial one: breakfast in a bag cooked over the fire...
We got this out of a camping cookbook. You put bacon in the bottom of a paper bag. Then hashbrowns (or in our case, curly fries). Then you crack an egg over it, roll the top of the bag down and poke a stick through it. Then you cook it over the fire. This is then supposed to create a luscious breakfast. In actuality, it created a mess. The bacon stuck to the bag, the egg didn't cook, we tried flopping it out onto a griddle, it tasted gross and we made s'mores for breakfast.
It SOUNDED really fun and good!

Recipe two: Cut an orange in half and hollow it. Make a little cinnamon roll out of refridgerator biscuits and cinnamon sugar filling. put it in the hollow orange.
put a little frosting on it. Cap the orange and wrap the whole thing in foil, creating a handle with the foil. Put it right into the coals. Bake about 20 min.
This was pretty good. The kids thought it was cool.

Then it was back to our campground, where people like things like showers and flush potties :)
