Christmas 2010

Christmas Eve fun!

Grandma Gay

She claims us all as her own...
She brings her own little store at Christmas time for everyone to shop at
Children love her
She is so thoughtful and kind and fun
She always looks pretty!
We love you Grandma Gay!
And Uncle Dennie too!

Saxton turns 6

What would you like to do on your birthday?

Stay in your pajamas?

work on an intricate puzzle?

And eat every meal in bed?

Sounds good.  You had your day planned out for a while!  We love you, Saxton!

McDonalds: 1 Parents: 0

Here we are at McDonalds.  We rarely go to McDonalds, and we try to spend under $10 when we go, but it was Saxton's birthday, and so....we got happy meals.

A while ago we were on a trip and stopped at McDonalds and got each of the children their dollar menu item and Saxton was crying, saying he never gets a happy meal.  (He's probably had 2 in his life, and other people bought them.).  So, we told him he could have a happy meal on his birthday.

He brought his best friend, Charlee, and they had a lot of fun.

And here is his long awaited happy meal toy.

It is quite possibly the ugliest happy meal toy ever created.

I coveted the one across the room that actually did something-- shot a bullet out of its arm!

Birthday Treats

These are treats for Saxton's small class, with their initials on them :)

I love melting chocolate and making shapes with it!  Melt chocolate chips in the microwave until they are soft.  Stir and put in a baggie and snip the corner.  Draw shapes on waxed paper and freeze.  Great for decorating cakes!

Getting out the Christmas Bins...

The children had fun with all of the Christmas clothes we haven't seen for a while-- They made up a play involving Santa and Mrs. Claus
